4th of July in Grand Prairie

The city of Grand Prairie, located in the middle of the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) Metroplex, offers a wide variety of family friendly things to do year-round. Whether you are a leisure traveler planning a full vacation or a business traveler looking for a fun evening activity, Grand Prairie has something for you.

Fourth of July is right around the corner and we’ve got a weekend full of activities in store, from live music to huge firework shows!

Wednesday, July 3rd
It’s time for fireworks! In Grand Prairie, one night of fireworks just isn’t enough. Head over to Lone Star Park for the first night of Lone Stars & Stripes. The gates open at 3pm and the first live race begins at 5pm. In addition to fireworks and live racing, there will also be live music and a family fun park! More of a baseball fan than horse racing? Come out to watch the Texas Air Hogs and stay after the game for a watch party of the fireworks. Gates open at 4:30pm and first pitch is at 5:35pm.

Tip: bring a Pepsi can to the track to receive free general admission and a coupon for a free large Pepsi!

Thursday, July 4th
Happy 4th of July! Celebrate the fourth with the second and final night of Lone Stars & Stripes at Lone Star Park. Gates open at 3pm and the first live race is at 5pm (fireworks show to follow the last race).

Saturday, July 6th
Nothing says Fourth of July weekend like hot dogs! Head out to the Grand Prairie Farmers Market on Saturday from 8am-1pm for their All-American Hot Dog Day! In addition to the event, the weekly market will be open.

After picking up some goodies from the farmers market, head to one of our amazing lake parks, Loyd Park or Lynn Creek Park. Both are equipped with great amenities, boat launches, picnic spots, pavilions and more! Enjoy your afternoon on the lake and grab some lunch or dinner at the famous floating restaurant, The Oasis. They have live music every weekend at the bar and the patio!

Sunday, July 7th
Don’t miss out on the all-day fun at Traders Village. Experience shopping, live music from the DVA Kidz, carnival rides and more! While you’re there, grab some yummy carnival foods for lunch!
